Subjects we tutor
Sessions cover high school science and math, from foundations through AP and calculus. Below is what students most often come to us for, along with the specific places each subject tends to become difficult.
Science
Biology
Macromolecules, cell division, genetics and Punnett squares, photosynthesis and cellular respiration, ecology, and evolution. Biology is a language, and we work to strengthen scientific vocabulary and apply that language to connect processes from the cell to the biosphere.
Chemistry
Atomic structure, balancing equations, stoichiometry and mole conversions, gas laws, and thermochemistry. Algebra plays such a crucial role in chemistry, and we work to strengthen math skills to help connect chemistry ideas and concepts.
Physics
Kinematics, Newton's laws, energy and momentum, waves, and circuits. Physics problems can become difficult to translate, we work to strengthen physics concepts to help students apply the correct equations and follow through to the correct answers.
AP Biology and AP Chemistry
Free-response practice, lab analysis, and the data interpretation questions that trip up students who know the content cold. Pacing matters as much as content on these exams, so we work against the clock well before May.
Math
Algebra 1 and 2
Linear equations, factoring, quadratics, systems, exponentials, and logarithms. Algebra gaps follow students into every later course, so this is often where we begin. Strong foundations help make future math classes easier.
Geometry
Proofs, triangle congruence and similarity, circles, coordinate geometry, and right-triangle trigonometry. Geometry asks students to write arguments rather than compute answers, which is a genuinely different skill and takes practice.
Pre-calculus
Function transformations, the unit circle, trigonometric identities, sequences and series. Pre-calculus is largely a vocabulary course for calculus, and students who build real fluency here find next year dramatically easier.
Calculus
Limits, derivatives, the chain rule, related rates, integration, and applications. Sessions available for both AB and BC pacing, including students taking calculus through a college dual-enrollment program.
Integrated Math I, II, and III
Many districts teach the same standards as Integrated Math rather than Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 — the topics are distributed differently across the three years, but the underlying content is the same. Bring your student's syllabus or textbook and sessions follow that course's sequence rather than a generic one, so what we practice matches what shows up on quizzes and exams.
Test prep
Digital SAT
Math and Reading & Writing. Prep starts with diagnostic practice to find which question types are actually costing points, then builds a study plan backward from the test date, with timing strategy throughout.

Free Intro Call
Twenty minutes on Zoom, no charge and no obligation. During this call, we’ll talk through what’s happening in class, look at recent work, and decide together whether our tutoring service is the right move. Together we’ll help determine how best we can reach your academic goals.

Weekly Sessions
Before the first session, our tutor will map out a pathway for sessions to help meet your learning goals. The plan will follow the student’s actual syllabus and pacing, so what we practice is what shows up on quizzes and tests.

Monthly Progress Check-Ins
We understand that communication and flexibility are paramount. Every month, you will receive an email about the topics that we covered, what is improving, and topics to still be covered and improved upon. If a grade or unit changes, we change with it.
The email will also include sessions for the next month, to help you plan and make changes as necessary.
Scheduling and Rates
Sessions are booked on a monthly schedule rather than session by session. Your student keeps the same day and time each week, which means we're not rebuilding a routine every few weeks and we can plan around what's coming up in their class. One-off sessions are occasionally possible, but they're rare — tutoring does its work through consistency.
Every session is booked for one student, and every session includes planning time before it. What we do on a given week is prepared in advance around that student's course and their monthly learning goals.
30 minutes — $27
Steady maintenance in one course. Good for a student who needs a weekly check-in on the current unit and to clarify questions.
60 minutes — $42
Room to rebuild foundations, work through a full problem set, or prepare for an exam. Most students find value in this session.
Materials are included. Practice sets, notes, and reference sheets we work from are provided at no extra cost. If your student would rather bring their own homework, lab, or test review, we work from that instead.
Tutoring more than one student in a family? Each is booked separately so both get their own plan. Message me and we'll find times that work back to back.
Meet The Head Instructor
I'm Lindsey. Math and science never came naturally to me, and that turned out to be the most useful thing about my teaching.
I studied marine science at CSU Monterey Bay with a minor in general biology, and later added a graduate certificate in geographic information systems from USC. I substitute taught in California classrooms from 2015 to 2018, spent three years teaching test prep at an academy in Spain, and opened Delta Learning Space in 2021. I've worked with more than fifty students since. Several have been with me for over three years.
I loved working in science. It turned out I liked explaining it more.
When a student says "I just don't get this," I don't tell them they're wrong. I ask them to walk me through their thinking, because the trouble is rarely where it looks like it is — a student stuck on rational expressions is often stuck on fractions. Once we find the real break, we rebuild from there. I work an example, we work one together, then they work one alone.
What I didn't expect is what comes later. Students who arrived certain they weren't smart start asking which colleges to apply to. One told me college felt easy, because by then she knew how to study and knew how to thrive academically.
Every student I've worked with has been smart. I created Delta Learning Space to show how learning can look different for every student, and with one-to-one and small classes, we can highlight students’ strengths.
